Thank you for your submissions. We had some great responses that involved some over the top ideas!!! We have to give these guys some credit for all they went through to make unique and romantic proposals. The perfect balance of sweetness and romance.
It was June 5th, 2009. My boyfriend, Richard, had a dozen red roses in his hand when he came to my apartment. He was always bringing me flowers or little gifts so I didn’t think it was anything out of the ordinary. We were planning to go to our favorite restaurant, which we went to at least twice a week. He was acting a little strange when he picked me up. He was talking a lot and he seemed nervous. I asked him what was wrong. He just said that he had a long day at work and wanted to have a nice quiet dinner. I didn’t realize until a couple of hours later why he was so nervous! We arrived at the restaurant and the hostess sat us at a table in the corner. Everyone at the restaurant has always been very friendly, but that night they were extremely nice! After dinner, he ordered our favorite dessert and a bottle of champagne. Again, this was not out of the ordinary at all. When they brought it out, my boyfriend had a huge smile on his face. They laid the plate in front of me and it had the words “Will you marry me?” written in the raspberry sauce! All of the sudden, he was standing beside me then he got down on one knee with this beautiful diamond ring in his hand. He looked up at me and said, “Will you?” Of course I said “Yes!!!” Everyone in the restaurant stood up and started clapping and telling us congratulations. Looking back, I can’t believe that I didn’t know what he was going to do because all of the hints were there, but it was a total surprise. It was absolutely perfect. We are now planning a June wedding in 2010!

Shane proposed on his birthday and completely caught me off guard. I had no idea it was coming. He asked me to take a picture with him before we went out to eat and we had to put it on a timer because no one was around to take the picture. Instead of hitting the timer he actually hit the record button on the camera and proposed right there with all of it on video. I was so shocked he did amazing, I was completely surprised. It was a very special moment for us that is just indescribable.
He's my prince charming and I'm so blessed to have an incredible spiritual leader in my life to encourage me everyday in the right direction. God will be number one in our marriage and I am confident in that because Shane has made sure of that through our whole dating relationship.
After he proposed we went to dinner and then after dinner went to my apartment where all my friends from Fayetteville were there waiting for us to celebrate. It was so much fun.

It was two days from my birthday...a Friday night! I was planning to go home for the weekend to celebrate my birthday with my family...Mitchell was unable to go because of work! So, he called me and said "before you leave town...come have a birthday dinner with him" which was at his apartment...
So...I arrived and walked through the door and there he sat on the floor with a picnic made and tea lit candles lighting the room. I was shocked...but never once thought he was asking me to marry him but that it was a surprise birthday dinner (I knew that if he did ask me he would ask my parents first and I didn't think he ever had the time to do that). We sat together and ate dinner which he made and enjoyed one another! Also by our picnic sat a dozen roses(my favorite flower) and a card. After dinner he said "well don't you want to open your card"...I opened it and it was a normal Birthday card...then he pulled out another card and said "I got you two this year"...once again I opened the card and this time a sheet of paper feel out...it was a clue!!!
I read Clue #1...it took me to the kitchen where I found Clue #2 in the oven...this clue lead me to the bathroom...where I found a birthday gift (a scarf..I had been wanting) along with Clue # 3...this clue lead me to the bedroom...where I found another birthday gift (i touch holder for working out) along with Clue #4...during this whole process I'm alone...so clue #4 lead me back to the living room...I opened the bedroom door that lead to the living room and there he was on one knee by our picnic...I was SHOCKED!! Totally caught me off guard!
I just bent down and he said "well come here"....I walked to him...then he began to talk to me and tell me wonderful things that expressed how he felt! I began to cry and then he said "WILL YOU MARRY ME" of course I said "YES"!! and then asked "When did you ask my parents!!"
It was a great memory and it couldn't have been more perfect for us! Turns out he had secretly took my parents to lunch and asked for their blessing. After I gathered myself I called my mom...Mitchell and I loaded up our stuff and drove home that night to spend the weekend with our family and friends! Brings tears to my eye just thinking of it... We have been married for almost 8 months now and we have loved every minute! :)
