We, at tulle, have compiled a list of questions that are asked frequently that we thought might be helpful to you. If you have a question that is not listed here please contact us at 501.255.0899 or at lisa@tulle-bridal.com.
Although it is recommended that you make an appointment, we are here from 11am-5pm Tuesday through Saturday. An appointment is helpful to ensure that you will have the personal attention of one of our consultants. If you cannot make appointment between the hours of 11-5, then we will do our best to meet you at a more convenient time for you.
Appointments are usually scheduled in two hour intervals. This should provide ample time to find the perfect dress for you. It has been said over and over because it is true....when you have found the perfect dress you will know!! Within this two hour time period, we can select the headpiece, the jewelry, shoes, and any accessories for your complete look.
You are not required to bring anything with you at all! If you have the pair of shoes that you plan to wear in your wedding, it would be a good idea to bring them with you to determine measurements. Bringing a corset or any undergarments that you plan to wear under your dress, such as spanx, would be a great idea to help visualize the look. It is beneficial to come with ideas about what look you are going for, and to be able to provide any information that will be helpful in selecting a gown, such as wedding date or location.
This is your personal choice. We ask that you only bring two to three guests-and of course the person that will be making the final decision with you! It can be a very overwhelming experience with too many opinions, and it is important to remember you will be the one wearing the gown on your wedding day. Also, it can be very distracting to the entire process to have young children present. We do not allow men in the dressing rooms. You might not be the only one trying on dresses, and other women may not be dressed appropriately in-between gowns.
To protect the fabric of the dress, we just ask you to be conscientious when putting on or removing the dress. Most gowns will be stepped into as opposed as to being pulled over the head. Make-up, perfumes and lotions can stain the dress. It is appreciated if you will remove any jewelry before trying on the gown as not to damage it. We will place any bridal jewelry after the gown is on.
We recommend that you start searching for a gown as soon as you have determined the most basic details of the wedding, such as the date and location. Most dresses take between 8-12 weeks to arrive and to give you time to select accessories or to have any alterations. It is also helpful to have an idea of your own dress before you select the bridesmaids dresses, mother of the bride or flowergirl dresses, etc.
We will take your measurements to determine what size will suit you best. We will order the gown once you have paid the 50% deposit. When your gown has arrived, we will notify you and from that point you will have ten business days to pay the remaining balance and pick up your dress. We will order your dress as soon as the deposit is made, after this point, no cancellations will be accepted without forfeiture of the deposit. We cannot allow the deposit to be applied to the purchase of another dress because once your dress has gone into production we are obligated to purchase it.
The bridesmaids dresses should be ordered soon after the bride's dress has been ordered. They can also take 8-12 weeks to arrive. One very important thing for you to keep in mind, we will not order the bridesmaids dresses until all of the bridesmaids have paid their 50% deposit. This is to ensure that all dresses will be ordered with the same dye lot so the colors will be uniform. The bridesmaid will also need to pay the remaining balance upon receipt of the gown.
We offer on-site alterations by Maria. She is also available during your appointment to answer any questions you may have, including possible changes made to a gown. We ask for you to try your dress on when you come to pick it up to ensure it was ordered correctly. Once the dress leaves the store we are no longer responsible for the fit of the gown. It is important to know the difference between someone that alters regular clothing and someone that alters wedding or special occasion gowns. Wedding gowns take much more effort and attention to detail.
When it is necessary we will be more than happy to sell a dress off the rack. Although it is recommended that you have a dress ordered just for you, understandably the traditional time-frame may not work for all brides, we can have a dress off the rack altered to fit. If you prefer, most of our designers can do a rush order for you at an additional charge.
Yes you can! Most designer's will make special request changes to any gown. It can be anything from changing the neckline, adding sleeves, going from a corset back to a zipper back, selecting a different fabric, adding or eliminating beading. There are many possiblities! Just ask!
You can get a well made dress without spending a fortune. You just need to know what to look for and ask the right questions. Look at the inside seams of a gown. Is the stitching strong? Is the hemline seamed properly-not just a simple fold over edge? Is it lined? Check to make sure the bead work is hand sewn, not glued on. Is support sewn into the dress or can the proper support be sewn into the dress withough damaging the integrity of the dress? Feel the fabric-does it have the proper sheen and density? Does it lay smoothly? Some dresses are treated with a petroleum product to keep them from staining-you do not want this on your dress. There are many other options to prevent staining more suitable than petroleum.
The most important question you need to ask is "Am I comfortable in this dress?" You should be comfortable in your dress and at the same time it should make you feel amazing!
We accept cash, VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS and DISCOVER. We also accept personal check with the initial deposit of the gown. Final payment must be made with cash or credit card. We do have a layaway plan available. Please ask your consultant for details.
While we do not provide additional services ourselves we have different vendors that are listed on our website under Resources. We do not specificially endorse any particular vendor, this list is just provided as a courtesy to our customers. Any questions and comments will need to be directed at them. We do know that the businesses listed are professionals in their chosen fields, and most of them we have had personal experiences with and been very pleased.
Yes, we offer tuxedos for rent and for purchase. The groom will need to be measured by one of our consultants, and then select from color swatches to suit his preferences. We have tuxedos from After 6, Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren, Perry Ellis and Calvin Klein. If the entire bridal party rents the tuxedos from tulle, the groom's tuxedo rental will be free.
